Partachute
Art and literature electronic magazine
Partachute[1]. A parachute of art, since we believe that art, literature and creative thinking in general, form an opposition to our chimerical times. A Partachute as a bulwark and hope in our days. Because art is deliverance and uplift of the soul.
One of our primary intentions is to be a new voice in
the literary matters, a new expression in the grounds of art. We are interested in promoting mainly new artists and at the same time to make known works that have unfairly passed unnoticed.
Criteria of our choices are the quality, the true value and the aesthetics of the works, and not the adoption from our part of the trend which is produced with the excessive promotion of specific creators and works.
This effort also aims to the collaboration between people from different countries and cultures. Exactly because we believe in communication regardless of the language, we publish and translate our works in Greek, English and Spanish, hoping that in the future we will add more languages. This way we lay the same emphasis on all the works we host, no matter where they come from. Let’s also not forget that communication of the arts is communication of the nations and the people.
Our point of view is wide, meaning that we don’t restrict ourselves only to literature, but we have extensions to matters of philology, theatre, music and generally everything that can be a helper to the evolution of intellect and ideas. The diversity of our subjects aims in showing the equality of all forms of intellectual production.
It is our conviction that art and creative thinking as an attitude and model of life form consciences and societies, and therefore are utmost political acts.
We would like to point out that from this effort of ours we do not acquire any economic profit. Besides, one of the magazine’s url addresses, .org, means precisely: non-profit organization. Consequently, the Partachute is a work which is being done with interest, enthusiasm and deep care for art and literature and our sole remuneration will be the comments of those who read us.
Partachute then, and words, art and literature to keep us, like safety valves, above the decadent mentality of our days, which wants man to be a prey of aesthetical cheapness, addicted to consumption and apathy, a victim in the hunt of money and fame, and never a free thinker or a hunter of the pleasure of communication and intellectual quest. Therefore we take a fast hold of our words and go…

[1]In Greek the title is Αλεξήπτωτο, as may be seen in the picture, and is an equivalent word pun with "Partachute", composing the greek words for "Parachute" and "Word".
